Grand Central is worth looking at

I posted about my search for decent voice mail a few days ago. I've been using YouMail on my cell phone for five days. It worked fine but I had trouble with the website from my Mac while using Firefox. So I've moved on.

I'm now trying Grand Central. Grand Central, like YouMail, allows you to create custom recorded greetings for callers based upon their caller ID. But Grand Central's real strength is that it links together all your phone numbers. You get a new phone number that is setup to forward to each of your other phone numbers. For instance, when someone calls your Grand Central number then grand Central will call you on your home phone, your mobile phone and your work phone all at once.

You can control which calls get forwarded to which other phones based upon callers or groups of individuals you assign in the address book. Different groups can also have different greetings.

Grand Central also allows you to setup a web button on your website that allows people to call you from your website without having tog share your cell phone number or your home phone number. They don't even knwo they have been forwarded to an alternate number.

I'm not experiencing any problems with the Grand Central website like I was experiencing with YouMail. I've also set up Grand Central to act as my voicemail, thereby solving my original goal. And giving me solutions to problems I didn't even know I had. I'll report back in a few days on how it is going.
